Following a highly praised collaboration project in 2023 with “WatchesArabized” and “OPTO WATCH CO.”, which was a special Arabic version of our L2 Chronograph, we are thrilled to introduce our latest model and second collaboration with WatchesArabized x OPTO WATCH CO. The new Legacy Automatic: Arabized (Al-Nimer) continues the “storytelling via horology” approach we use when creating timepieces catered towards the GCC Region. Al-Nimer plays on the book by Zakaria Tamer; “Tigers on the Tenth Day”.

Legacy Automatic: Arabized features a hand-finished, titanium case with a subtle coin edge bezel, hollowed lugs and an exhibition caseback. Al-Nimer (which translates to “The Tiger”) features a newly designed, Tiger’s Eye stone dial, completed with applied gold colored Arabic numerals, a center accent ring, a thermal blued seconds hand (for a subtle pop of color) and an applied railroad seconds track, that is completed in Arabic! The hands are sword style which carries on the design from our Legacy Automatic series. The case is 38mm with a 20mm lug width.

Al-Nimer is limited to 25 pieces. Each piece will be individually numbered on the caseback. Note that serial number selection will not be available for this release.

Details

Al-Nimer carries our tradition of thoughtful and functional design elements, including:

- Svelte dimensions to create a timepiece that’s timeless. Al-Nimer is sized at 38mm (45mm lug to lug) and maintains a 10.8mm height, all while boasting a stunning Tiger’s Eye stone dial that is finished with applied numerals and accents.

- Sapphire Crystal with five layers of anti-reflective coating added to ensure legibility, whether you’re telling time or capturing photos - all while being scratch resistant, so that you can use your timepiece worry free.

- The hand-finished, Titanium TA2 case has an aesthetic that allows the Legacy Automatic to be worn in formal settings, while being versatile enough to transition to casual settings. The case blends both brushed and polished finishes in the right places - and features hollowed lugs and a subtle coin edge bezel.

- The case lugs are a modern reinterpretation of the legendary “Cornes de Vache” (French for “cow horns”) lug style that renowned watch houses have utilized in the past. Unlike those, the Legacy Automatic’s lugs combine both sharp and rounded edges that maintain our original design language while giving respect to those timepieces that paved the way.

- Water resistant to 50 metres (160 feet), the Legacy Automatic is suitable for most activities as long as the crown is pushed down. The Crocodile strap should not get wet as that can cause the leather to dry out.

- The Legacy Automatic: Arabized comes on a handmade crocodile strap that is made by OPTO Watch Co. It features elegant tone on tone stitching and quick release technology.

- The Legacy Automatic series features our FIRST custom mechanical caliber, HWC-01. It is visible via exhibition caseback and is a beauty to see. Caliber HWC-01 is also 100% US Assembled.
